Therapy For Teens

Therapy for Teens

Fees
60-Minute Parent/Guardian Intake: $145
50-Minute Individual Session: $135

Adolescence is a time of transition. It is totally normal for teens to start to pull away from their caregivers and assert their independence. This transition also tends to come with a lot of growing pains: fear of judgement, drama with friends, mood swings, risky behavior, pushback against authority, academic challenges, isolation, uncertainty, etc.

Giving your teen a space to talk through all of these challenges, without fear of judgement or punishment, may lead to social, emotional, and academic improvement. I am happy to provide that space. I also offer feedback and guidance to caregivers regarding healthy changes that can be made within the home to impact the overall wellbeing of the family. Additionally, I can coordinate with schools to discuss accommodations that can help your teen be more comfortable and successful at school.

THERAPY FOR
YOUNG ADULTS

Becoming an adult can be both exciting and scary! It often feels like you can’t catch up to others, whether that be socially, academically, career-wise, or in dating. This can lead to a lot of self-doubt, anxiety, hopelessness, mood swings, risky behavior, tension with friends and family, isolation, etc. When it feels like you’re stuck in quicksand, therapy can be the rope you use to pull yourself out. In my office, young adults have a space to be their authentic selves, process through their darkest thoughts, and find a way forward.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Fees

60 to 90-Minute ART Session: $160

ART is an evidence-based psychotherapy used to treat a number of issues, including anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress, performance anxiety, family issues, poor self esteem, sexual abuse, grief, job-related stress, even dyslexia. ART involves rapid bilateral eye movement and voluntary memory/image replacement, while following along with a script based on the issue we are addressing. Sounds complicated, right? Here’s the best way I’ve found to explain it: Imagine you take whatever is causing you a ton of distress right now and you turn down the volume on that distress, maybe even mute it entirely. ART can completely change how you feel about the thing that made you want to run, hide, and cry. Results can happen in as little as 1 to 5 sessions. I use ART for a number of issues, but this is my go-to treatment for trauma survivors. My teen and young adult clients often express shock over how quickly they feel relief in their symptoms.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) FOR TEENS & Young adults

Trauma and grief are both awful in their own right, but when combined, it is especially difficult to move forward. TGCT is an evidence-based, assessment-driven treatment for adolescents, ages 11 to 21. It is beneficial for those exposed to trauma, bereavement, traumatic bereavement, or other life adversities that place them at high risk for severe and persistent distress, functional impairment, and developmental disruption. This type of therapy follows four modules over the course of several months, with built-in check-in sessions with the teen client and their caregiver(s), so it requires commitment from both the client and their family. I am able to adjust treatment based on the client’s needs, so we can focus on just trauma, just grief, or both.
